Guest guest
Congratulations Barb! It's so great he had such a wonderful improvement! Jay Subject: Evan Update - Good News!!To: infantile_scoliosis Date: Wednesday, September 24, 2008, 9:05 PM We just got back from 4 days in Rochesters. Evan had been stuck around 15 degrees for almost 7 months, but his X-Rays on Monday showed him at 4 degrees!!! I was so happy, I just burst into tears. It has taken a year and a half (starting at 49 degrees), but we are finally in a brace and Evan's back looks so wonderful. We now are scheduled to go back in 6 months and I just hope his back holds straight. I am so thankful to the Shriners in Erie where we started and now to Strong Memorial in Rochester. We still feel like this is a dream, we could not have asked for anything better. I dont know what we would have done if it werent for ISOP and the CAST support group. Please call me when you get a moment. What was his incast measurement in this last cast? How long was this cast on? It was waterproof, right? I can only imagine how you feel. Maybe some day for us... I am super happy for you! Gives me hope... YEAH! Guest guest
Jill, Yes, this was the waterproof cast and I think the in cast measurement was 2 degrees and he wore it for 3 months. I think he actually had a growth spurt of about 1 1/2 inches during that time. I was thinking of you while we were up there and I have high hopes that will get wonderful results when you return. How is he doing in this cast? Remember how I thought the cast was loose? Evan actually had a slight abrasion where his Dr. tried to correct the spine. I guess it wasnt as loose as I thought and was actually made just right. I will give you a call.
