Guest guest
Hello all, I wanted to post that my daughter (6 yrs. old) has been seeing a chiropractic neurologist since March and FINALLY we are seeing her anxieties diminish. They are not gone by any means, but they are noticeably lessening. Just today she went for a dr. visit. She is EXTREMELY fearful of the medical instruments, especially the ear, nose and throat light instrument. She has NEVER let any dr. get near her with that instrument without having to be physically restrained. She works herself up so much in a drs. office that she will vomit. I found really good peds. several years ago, just a husband and wife team, no nurses, no receptionist. They schedule their own appts. They are VERY accomodating and always clear their schedules so that if Peri cannot go into the examining room (due to her anxieties, she has often refused to enter another room once in the office), they will examine her in the waiting room. The last few times I had to take her (once in August, once in Oct. and then again today), she has gotten increasingly less anxious. Today however, she had NO anxiety about going in whatsoever. She prefers the husband, and whenever he is not available, she cries and gags. Well, today she had to see the wife, and she did fabulous. She asked for the husband, Dr. Monaco, but he wasn't available, and she didn't fuss at all. She walked into the examining room, allowed the wife, Dr. Chun to look into her ears, nose, and mouth, got examined, and then onto the scale with no problems. FIRST TIME EVER. Needless to say, the dr. was stunned at how well she did also. We all attributed it to the work the chiropractic neurologist is doing with Peri. This is the only different change in her regimen that she's had for over a year, and I've been taking Peri either once or twice a week since March. Our struggle with anxieties is the absolute worst part of Peri's disorder. They have controlled her life for the past 3 years and it is an ongoing uphill battle. Today was a much needed break from the norm. Just wanted to share this with the group. Karmen
