Hi Everyone,

This is to let you know that Surf Relief (co-host of Lifeworks' Breaking

the Barrier event) is organising a surfing event for autistic and learning

disabled children alongside its one-day surfing championship at Watergate

Bay in Cornwall.

Surf Relief is a charity that holds events to raise funds for

disadvantaged youth. On the weekend of July 25th-26th, Surf Relief will be

hosting it's annual Surf Relief Festival, sponsored in large part by White

Stuff. As part of the programme this year, Surf Relief is offering

one-to-one surfing lessons to learning disabled children between the ages

of 8 and 18, starting at 10am and running until 4pm on the Saturday, 26th

July.

A few bits of info...

-- If you'd like your child/children to take part, please drop me an

e-mail as I'll be responsible for the registration of participants.

Numbers are limited to 40 children, so registration will be on a

first-come,first-served basis.

-- Each lesson will be approximately 30-minutes

-- Wetsuits will be available; however, if your child has one, please

bring it along (there's nothing more icky than getting in a wet wetsuit)

-- Lunch will be provided for participating children but please let me

know in advance if you want your child to take this offer up as we need to

know numbers

-- Please let us know in advance if you require direct access top the

beach due to physical disability as we will have to organise this. The

beach is accessible down a small tarmac lane; however. cars are not

allowed to drive down as a rule

-- Parking is not free. There is a tarmac parking area as well as parking

in a nearby field.

-- Registration will be similar to the Breaking the Barrier event with

forms to be posted at a later date along with instructor and lesson time

assignments.
