Guest guest
I have not posted in a while, due to some recent health issues, but i have been keeping up with the group each and every day. I continue to be inspired by the parents and children in this group. I myself have had 2 back surgeries in the past 7 weeks (discectomies due to massive a disc herniation compromising my nerve function)and am still recovering. Trying to hold off on a fusion for a while. However, I wanted to post an update regarding Holly (now 18 months old) as she had a follow up with her ortho at Children's Hospital in DC 2 weeks ago. Her curve (intially at 36 degrees when she was 6 months old) seems to be holding at 12 degrees. The large hump on the right side of her back is completely gone. She still has an awkward gait but her hips look good according to the docs. We follow up in another 5 months. So we will continue to hold off on casting but are keeping a watchful eye. (mom to Holly 18 months, I.S., 36 degrees then 27 then 12 and now 12 degrees)
