Guest guest
any source sugar granules do not exist in natural environments* kombucha is not merely a tea, you brew it with " tea " /infusions there is no such thing as kombucha tea: -it is an elixir & whole body tonic(varying according to how one brews her/his styles?) why is this listserv so absolutely religiously stubborn about the usage of drug-form sugars(from any source derived) in feeding scoby? bottom line: you feed the culture any drug form sugars, then you will not produce an authentic active living kombucha. what parts of unnatural & nonexistent-in-nature do we continue on in denial, apathy, lies, distortion or brutish self-delusionality human beings never " one-up " mother nature, ever, ever: accept the reality why not? it's the sugar that is specifically in question ________________________________ To: original_kombucha Sent: Tuesday, June 19, 2012 4:55 PM Subject: Re: Re: Trying to get a new batch started after over a year  Even easier. Store bought GTs KT - original. Pour it in a larger mouthed container - example - a wide mouth quart jar - cover with coffee filter and just wait. It will form a lovely scoby in a relatively brief period of time. This was how I made my first one. Later I got one from someone who started hers before GTs moved to their " enlightened " version. If you can get the original where you are go for that. The enlightened works some have suggested the culture is not as strong as the orignal was. Avoid any of the non-refridgerated versions - I am trying to think of an example - but anyway - I have seen them in bottles in the soda/bottled fizzy water area of the store. I would almost promise you those have been pasturized. You want the raw type in the refidgerator case.
