Guest guest
I have received multiple complaints and am actively working on a few cases from TX that are very troubling. The use of active and passive restraint without Behavioral Intervention Plans to support it is a big problem. The 'labeling' of our kids as SED when in fact ASD diagnostics apply and have been made. But most importantly the use of physical punishment. A parent had given me a sight or group that has that as the topic or name within the state of TX - with all the email I get I managed to let that one get away from me and was never able to join that group as well. I would like to hear about ANY TIME OUT ROOMS, Any us of PHYSICAL ABUSE, Restraint of any kind, and lack of Behavioral Intervention plans. Regardless of parental action I have already been in contact with a few affiliates and am ready to take this directly to the new Administration of course citing their promises to the world of Autism. We may have been a split nation but the world of Autism must unite as much as possible in regards to the future of our children - after all I do believe that's why we are in these kind of net groups. Please email me personally or respond on the web or group. Web responses are always best because they will come up in searches and help spread information. I WANT TO hear your story and see if there is anything that can be done about individual cases (no worries - we don't charge), and as well to address the Republic of TX as well in regards to compliance with IDEA and ADA and as well the US Dept. of Ed's law in regards to the education of any child - not just a child with an ASD. Physical Abuse and Time out rooms are not tolerated by The Office of Advocacy, Time out can be done effectively with no room - a simple divider and a chair for short periods is all our kids can take anyway. I've had just about enough of this pre 90's treatment of children. So Email me and tell me your story. Thank you. Peace4kids@...
