Guest guest
Kecia, How is your son doing on the IVIG? How many treatments has he received? Is insurance paying for it? Thanks. Mirielle RE: Re: care clinics We only see Dr. Jepson for my son’s IVIG needs but have seen Lucas , the nurse practitioner, for everything else. He is excellent and I highly recommend him. He is very personable and always spends an hour with us at each appointment. He consults with Dr. Jepson on all major medical decisions. I hope this helps you. When I called to get an appointment for my son, they said we could see a nurse practitioner but not any doctors. Does anyone know if they plan to expand and add more physicians? Guest guest
Hi Mirielle, He has only received one IVIG treatment and that was earlier this week. The infusion itself went fine even though it took 6 hours to run it in. The next day he had some pretty severe side effects…headache, vomiting, dizziness, etc. He slept on and off all day and wouldn’t eat anything…the second day after we kept him home from school but he was feeling much better. I’ve talked to some other moms and they have all said the side effects with the 1st treatment are the worse. We haven’t seen benefits yet but I didn’t expect to this early. Insurance is paying for 6 treatments, otherwise we would never be able to afford it. He has a diagnosis of hypogammaglobulinemia, immune disorder. Let me know if you have any other questions.
