Guest guest
I would not use stainless steel or indeed any metal, even gold. My daughter had a huge amount of nickel in her system after just *one* stainless steel crown had been in her mouth. I had problems with the metals in a crown myself--even the high noble metal. I would have nothing but porcelain, and be sure where the ingredients came from (NOT from China). Is the dentist trying to crown all the molars? If so, are they really decayed, or is this 'preventive?' If the latter, that's both expensive and irresponsible. Sealants would be far better. > > > > or anyone who has used stainless steel crowns, > > > > Are stainless steel safe for our kids ....our dentist wants to make > 4 stainless steel crowns for my 11 year old's molars. Guest guest
My son Son Andree 8 yrs old got silver caps, made by no metals at all. and he is still just as autistic as when he was, 2 years ago when he have them done. As long there is no mercury ( ask your doctor first) They should have all the info available for you , paper work that you are to sign before the session. Anesthesia has also a lot to with it. So the best advice I can give you is do not be affraid to ask all the quetions, and do not let the doctor over rule you with decisions, by trying to make you feel comfort by offering security. hope this helps! > > > > > > or anyone who has used stainless steel crowns, > > > > > > Are stainless steel safe for our kids ....our dentist wants > to make > > 4 stainless steel crowns for my 11 year old's molars. Guest guest
Well ask a dentist, I am sure they can answer your question. I asked this same question a long time ago. It always helps to know what materials they are using in them. I asked my dentist and made sure I knew what I was getting in to. If you are trying to questioned me I am not answering your question, but if is to help each other ( which that is the reason this forum is for ) then I will give the info. i put my 2 cents in another's member question but I am not here to pick a discussion about someone that is trying to put my integrity in question. I am the mother of 3 boy's with autism, and I also have being trough many experiences to know about what I am talking about, so as I said if the question is to seriously know about information, then I will answer. End of this. Guest guest
Hi Jackie, What is the post that goes into the gum made of? Is it porcelain? My son has a stainless steal crown and I am itching to get it out as soon as possible as it is all stainless and has been in a LONG time. I'd be interested to know what your dentist used for you son's crown to see what else is out there if we need to do another one down the line Thanks,Fran "Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind."--Dr. Seuss Think Autism.Think Cure. > From: Elsass <celsass1yahoo (DOT) com>> Subject: [Texas-Autism- Advocacy] Re: Stainless steel crowns -- NO> To: Texas-Autism- Advocacy@ yahoogroups. com> Date: Wednesday, November 26, 2008, 7:42 AM> How could a silver cap have no metal?> > > >> > My son Son Andree 8 yrs old got silver caps, made by> no metals at > all. and he is still just > > as autistic as when he was, 2 years ago when he have> them done.> > As long there is no mercury ( ask your doctor first)> They should > have all the info available > > for you , paper work that you are to sign before the> session.> > Anesthesia has also a lot to with it.> > So the best advice I can give you is do not be> affraid to ask all > the quetions, and do not let > > the doctor over rule you with decisions, by trying to> make you feel > comfort by offering > > security.> > > > hope this helps!> > > >
Guest guest
he has all ceramic they are also temporary, cause he had a lots of issues with brushing his teeth when he was younger. He has already lost 2 molars safely. And haven't had any problems , except for some excess saliva from time to time when the are about to fall. All-ceramic: Materials that are non-metallic and biocompatible, which are well-suited for use in dental esthetics and prosthetics. Nobel Biocare “all-ceramic esthetics†means no metal core. That is what I was trying to say. And they are a very slight sort of gray ( not silver ) I must rephrase that, since it may had created a missanderstanding. > > > From: Elsass <celsass1yahoo (DOT) com> > > Subject: [Texas-Autism- Advocacy] Re: Stainless steel > crowns -- NO > > To: Texas-Autism- Advocacy@ yahoogroups. com > > Date: Wednesday, November 26, 2008, 7:42 AM > > How could a silver cap have no metal? > > > > > > > > > > My son Son Andree 8 yrs old got silver caps, made > by > > no metals at > > all. and he is still just > > > as autistic as when he was, 2 years ago when he > have > > them done. > > > As long there is no mercury ( ask your doctor > first) > > They should > > have all the info available > > > for you , paper work that you are to sign before > the > > session. > > > Anesthesia has also a lot to with it. > > > So the best advice I can give you is do not be > > affraid to ask all > > the quetions, and do not let > > > the doctor over rule you with decisions, by > trying to > > make you feel > > comfort by offering > > > security. > > > > > > hope this helps! > > > > > >
