Guest guest
I've hesitated for months and spent ages on the net but haven't got anywhere with this problem. I have cable broadband and a modem wired into my PC. My son now has a laptop and needs access to the internet but I don't want WiFi, for health reasons. I can't make head or tail of the jargon-laden info on the web! Devolo make Dlan systems but they look a bit bulky. It seems I need a broadband router (whatever that is) and devolo's start up package plus an additional plug. Henry rips things out of sockets, switches things off, I'm sure you get the picture. Should I get the above (and will it work and is it bulky (my rooms are tiny)) or should I get some rooms wired with ethernet connections (if I do do I still need some equipment), please? Staples were selling the devolo stuff but they are discontinuing it and no-one could tell me what I needed or how it worked(!)so obviously devolo equipment is not selling. Henry's dad thinks I'm nuts and should get WiFi. I wish I could get someone to come round and sort it all out for me.... this has been something I've wanted to sort since September. Thanks, Margaret
