JENNY McCARTHY, KATIE WRIGHT & DEIRDRE IMUS JOIN GENERATION RESCUE

GENERATION RESCUE TO TARGET PREVENTION AND TREATMENT-BASED RESEARCH FOR AUTISM AND ADHD – JENNY McCARTHY, DEIRDRE IMUS, AND KATIE WRIGHT JOIN BOARD.

Los Angeles, CA: Generation Rescue, a non-profit organization focused on prevention and recovery from Autism, ADHD and chronic illness, today announced the expansion of the organization through three major steps:

1. McCarthy, Deirdre Imus and have joined the Board of Directors.

Ms. McCarthy is a best-selling author, actress, activist, and mother who recovered her son Evan from autism. Her latest book, Louder than Words, profiled her own son’s journey of recovery. She is also the co-founder of Teach2Talk , which produces a DVD educational series that targets core speech, language, play and social skills through video modeling. “Generation Rescue was there for me when I was trying to figure out how to help my son, and now I’m looking forward to enabling Generation Rescue to help families everywhere,†said Ms. McCarthy.

Deirdre Imus is a national leader in children’s health and environmental awareness. Mrs. Imus is the Founder and President of the Deirdre Imus Environmental Center for Pediatric Oncology®. She is co-founder and co-director with husband, Don Imus, of the Imus Cattle Ranch for Kids with Cancer. Mrs. Imus is a best-selling author of the Green This! series, including the latest book Growing Up Green, Baby and Child Care. “Generation Rescue is at the forefront of connecting the dots between environmental issues, Autism, ADHD and chronic illness.†said Mrs. Imus, “Their vision is in line with my beliefs, and I look forward in helping to protect and recover children through their efforts,†said Mrs. Imus.

Before devoting her full-time efforts to recovering her son Christian, was the Clinical Director of the Sexual Assault Crisis Center in Stamford, Connecticut. Her son was the inspiration for the formation of Autism Speaks. Ms. also serves on the boards of the National Autism Association and SafeMinds. “Generation Rescue’s focus on prevention and recovery from autism fills a great void in the autism community right now, and I’m honored to lend my support to push research forward and give all of our kids the best chance for being all they can be,†said Ms. .

2. Stan Kurtz has been hired as full-time Executive Director of the organization and has also joined the Board of Directors.

Mr. Kurtz was a crisis counselor and a development and technology executive prior to leaving those fields to recover his son from autism and take on leadership roles in the community. Mr. Kurtz developed Methyl-B-12 Nasal Spray therapy, and his research and advocacy continues to highlight the collective relationship between infections and toxins to autism, ADHD and many chronic illnesses. Mr. Kurtz is the founder of Children's Corner School in Van Nuys, California, a unique school that focuses on research, health, nutrition and a green school environment as a foundation for child development. In talking about Generation Rescue, Mr. Kurtz said, “I’m excited to be a part of a forward thinking organization that already has more than 450 volunteer families helping parents get started on the path to recovery. The reality of recovery for many more children is here, and parents have been the catalyst. It’s up to us to bridge the gap between our children’s plight and the global awareness needed to heal our children and prevent further incidents of autism and related disorders.â€

3. A leading initiative to fund research into biomedical treatments for autism, ADHD and related illnesses has been implemented.

“Many families are needlessly suffering while children are being refused treatment. We have compelling evidence, through reports from hundreds if not thousands of families that individualized biomedical interventions are recovering children with autism, including my son and McCarthy’s son,†said Mr. Kurtz. He continued, “Our goal is to optimize treatments, make them available to everyone by providing funding for research and helping to support and refine what we now know –recovery and prevention are possible for many families today.â€

Generation Rescue is asking corporations or families who are able to support the organization in their new initiative by donating funds through the “Donate Now†button at http://www.GenerationRescue.org/. They also ask that any corporations that can donate services to advance this cause or any families that wish to volunteer their time or talents to organize events, or otherwise contribute to please contact the Executive Director.

“Our vision is to continue spreading the message that recovery is real and to be the leader in funding research for causative factors and biomedical interventions for Autism, ADHD and related conditions and to support families in need,†added Mr. Kurtz. He concluded, “Most parents of children with these conditions are struggling financially and emotionally. For those companies with finances, products and services to donate or individuals who are in a position to donate or contribute their time or talent, we humbly ask that you help us build the foundation for this critical mission.â€
