Hi Guys (forgive the cross-post!) I just wanted to give you all the contact info for the most AMAZING music therapist in town!!! My son (6 yr old with Aspergers) had his first music therapy session today and he (WE) fell in love with her. The therapist's name is Marcie Friedman and she is brilliant! My son loved their time together and I feel he got a lot out of it. She came to my house and brought everything that was needed (3 suitcases full of music instruments). DS got to play the guitar, drums and lots of other fun things. The used a metronome for keeping the rhythm/beat and did some artwork to music. They even created a song together on the piano (we have a piano at our house). It was such a delight to watch and hear!!! ) We have done the traditional therapies for so long I felt like it is time to start channeling some of DS's interests into productive activities. DS is a very creative, artsy (is that a word) kind of kiddo so I figured music therapy would be a wonderful way to tap into that positive creative energy.
