Guest guest
Marlee, Hi. Our son is very a-typical. I have learned the hard and long way what to give and not give him. It was about two or more yrears ago when I stopped all gluten: wheat, barley, rye oat and one other. Oh yes, spelt, which has gluten. Immediately I saw that his bowel movements were no longer huge, and while he still has some gut problems with yeast and candida, he no longer ever has any rectal bleeding. Problem one got solved: But I will never know whether a milk or wheat allergy caused him to react adversely to childhood vax or to childhood disease even. He has apraxia, globally, and that is often linked with gluten sensitivity. On to your question about milk: I have a gal pal who lives in Boston and works with a brilliant gastro guy, names elude me, or you would have it and recognize it: Oh yes it is Dr. Tim Buie. He suggested my friend give her son goat's milk instead of cows milk as it has I believe larger molecules and is more easily digested. That might be one avenue for you as I do know how worrisome it would be not to give a baby any milk. Then, too, there is some protein in soy, and perhaps sources like Whole Foods might be able to direct you to the right beverage. Also, you might want to contact NEEDS at and discuss this problem with one of their wellness counsellors. Your solution will likely not be cheap, but it will be surely cheaper than lifelong neurological disability. Best, Cornelia
