Guest guest
After three extremely bad days in a row, I am finally getting to the point with where she will talk about how things are making her feel. UNfortunately, some of her OCD symptoms are now manifesting outside of the home. She went to see her psychologist yesterday and we together met with him first and I explained how at school that morning she did not want to separate and kept wispering in my ear and covering her mouth as she did asking me repeated questions about whether I was going to die. The psychologist asked her about why she felt she had to cover her mouth and wisper and she told him that she did not want the other kids to hear because she would be embarassed. THANK GOD!!! Finally, she is talking about this! She also expressed to me this morning that she was " scared " that she might do something that would " make me die " referring to herself. We talked for a few minutes about her fear and I tried to reassure her but within a few minutes, she lost interest in talking to me and ran to watch Scooby Doo. Unfortunately, her psychologist cannot yet do much as far as treatment because her symptoms have not manifested themselves in his office. He said it is very hard to treat kiddos this little because they are very good at hiding it and do not understand their feelings as well as the older kids. We still have a med evaluation scheduled for the end of March and although I still have my apprehensions about medicating , I am trying to keep an open mind especially in light of her symptoms now showing up outside the home on occasion. Poor thing, I tried to get her to play Littlest Pet Shop this morning which was her favorite toy for Christmas but she said she did not want to play with her toys any more because she might get germs on them. She has hardly touched any of her toys in the past two weeks. R P.S. The psychologist says he is more leaning toward the OCD diagnosis rather than the anxiety disorder but he says OCD itself is a form of an anxiety disorder.
