Debbie A,

I would not stand for that at all. I would tell the teacher that the

report card is exactly that - it reports to you how your child is doing.

By stating he's at grade level when he is nowhere near there is not just

a 'misunderstanding' .. it seems to be a lie put in there for your

'comfort'. Let that teacher know or speak to the Principal about this

so that in the future you get accurate reporting. If those ISD's don't

know that you mean business they'll walk all over you as long as you are

within them. Texas has always been a 'targeted' state for some reason.

DISD was the worst offender.. even with their team of Attorneys they

still lose in Due Process so they seem to have cleaned up their act.

Now it's the other ISD's that don't have that type of 'legal coverage'

that are wide open to be under attack for doing the exact same thing

that DISD did in the late 90's and early 2000's ... Failing to track

goals and benchmarks. Make them revise the report card to display the

correct information.

Have everything documented also.

i wouldn't talk to the teacher, I will write a letter notice for an official

meeting to discuss this.

It is so important that everything be documented, and if they have any problems,

you can always get the help from an advocate.

A teacher should not be taking decisions neither for your child or you specially

in academics.
