Guest guest
CAST Group Netiquette Casting as an Alternative for Scoliosis Treatment Thank you for joining the CAST Support Group. The following rules (netiquette) are designed to create structure and efficiency and facilitate common politeness. All members are asked to help by being respectful and remaining on task. Purpose: The CAST group exists because its members wish to engage in an ongoing dialogue about infantile scoliosis. This group provides families who are involved with infantile scoliosis with support, information, empowerment, and community. Discussion of issues facing children with infantile scoliosis can be beneficial to all CAST members. To facilitate this process, the group will be managed by a few basic rules. By registering as a member of this group, you agree to the following: · Refrain from suggesting that other members disregard advice provided to them by medical professionals. · Be polite and considerate of other members. · Never use profanity or attack individuals or doctors. · Do not forward copyrighted material to the list unless you have permission to do so. · Send your own personal information by private email, rather than via a group posting. · Never disclose a medical professional’s personal contact information via the group list serve. Contacting a medical professional at home is unprofessional and shows a lack of respect for them. It is better to use the proper channels and contact them via their professional practice. · Refrain from mentioning the names of your child’s physicians. Instead, use the name of the hospital. · Post only material related to infantile scoliosis. · Respond only to the issue in question, not to personalities. It is important to respect the opinions of other CAST members, although you do not have to agree. · Label each message with an appropriate subject line for the topic. We recognize that some CAST members may work in the fields of disabilities, healthcare, government and education. This is a group for parents and families of infantile scoliosis patients. Therefore, it is expected that these members will participate as parents or family members, not as professionals, even though lines between these roles may sometimes be unclear. We recognize this ambiguity and expect the list serve members who wear dual hats to abide by this netiquette.
