Guest guest
I am addicted to ebay lol I think I need something like AA for ebay rehab. But mainly its because I can buy toys and clothes very very cheaply and if I find that my ASD kids wont wear or play with them they are very easy to sell on to someone else back on ebay.  For instance my Amy is 4 and likes the glittery clothes but it depends on what material is touching her skin if she will wear it or if she just handles it. I am usually able to get dance costumes from recitals and such for a dollar or two. So if she wont wear them its not big deal if she opts to drag it around the house. And my nearly 2 yr old will generally use them as dress ups. Amy has yet to work out why Kailyn likes to put other peoples clothes shoes and hats on. Such as a little nurses uniform we got her . Amy does not even understand and will tell Kailyn you baby not nurse. And gets very upset so we can only play dress ups when she is not at home.  Oh our best buy for Amy on ebay was the V tech gaming console. She loves that she can make it do things to her will. Its not always how the game is meant to be played but it works for her. Especially the game with letters and numbers. She also likes games without characters that are on tv. We got her the dora game and she didnt like it cause Dora is a tv not a game. Even though the game is played on the tv Amy had them seperate in her mind and so they will stay.  Again my recommendation for the day is ebay ebay ebay lol  > > > cheryl you have a very well balanced view with her and that is of what > > i to admire of you as a mom person for her and you daughter sounds much > > like of me. Guest guest
, I'm with you there! LOL I do lots of buying and selling on ebay, though most of my buying recently has been at local thrift stores and goodwills, not always but some great deals can be found there too. For clothes we don't have as bad of a problem, there hasn't been stuff that she just won't wear, at this point she usually couldn't care less as to what I put on her and she often won't give her choice if I try to give her one. But 99% of her wardrobe is Gymboree.... not as pricy as Hanna (we have gotten some of that too but not often) but still soft and comfy... most of it at least and rarely have I had a stain I couldn't get out with it and it lasts longer than the stuff I could buy elsewhere. Now I still can't afford to buy Gymboree new (or at least not at the retail store - especially since there isn't one real close by) but I belong to a Yahoo group for mom's addicted to Gymboree and I can buy gently used items at a fantastic deal as well as can re-sell the stuff that ends up not working for us. Often when others score great deals on clearance they'll pass those deals on to others so I am able to get some New With Tags stuff at a huge discount on RV as well. > > I am addicted to ebay lol I think I need something like AA for ebay > rehab. Guest guest
Most of my Amys clothes are pumpkin patch. Because 1 its good quality and doesnt lose its shape with Amys pulling and tugging at it 2 the materials she normally happy to wear including the denim which is softer than others we have found and 3 she loves the bright colors.  I was lucky to get her a Pumpkin Patch dress on ebay during our winter time. The dress was last years Summer collection and the recommended retail was well over $100 I would never be able to afford that but someone got it as a gift it didnt fit or something and they sold it on ebay.. I got it for $7 so now its away for Christmas as its a festive sort of berry type print on it.  Especially the same with good name brand toys such as fisher price leapstar and others. I hate paying $50 for a toy for Amy to have a melt down and watch it smash on the floor. The same toys I am lucky enough to get on ebay for $5 or $10. I think parents who have the issue of secondhand goods would do good to have a look at how much it would cost us to replace things if we didnt have ebay or thrift shops as well. I know with my 3 kids I would be broke lol  > > > > > cheryl you have a very well balanced view with her and that is of what > > > i to admire of you as a mom person for her and you daughter sounds much > > > like of me.
