Spring 2009

January 6, 2009 – May 15, 2009

**Monday, March 16 – Saturday, March 21 off for Spring Break**

**Thursday, April 2 – Saturday, April 4 off for Teacher Work Day**

Starting January 1, 2009 KidSpeak, LLC will be accepting MasterCard, Visa and Discover Card.

Mommy and Me Group (ages 18 months – 2 ½ years) Friday 10:00 – 11:00

This program is designed for children that are preverbal or limited within their verbal expressions. This group includes the children, speech therapist and mommies/daddies/caregivers. The goal for this program is to create language routines between the child and their caregivers that can be utilized within numerous environments that foster social communication, emotional regulation, verbal expression, comprehension and relationship building. Spaces are limited to 4 Caregiver/Child pairs. The ratio for this group will be 1 speech therapist to 2 to 4 Caregiver/Child pair. This program does not require your child to

participate within weekly individual therapy sessions; however, it is recommended. (17 group sessions)

Preschool Group I (ages 3 – 6) Monday/Wednesday 9:30 – 11:30

This group is designed for children who are already familiar with the classroom and social rules of preschool. These children use and understand a higher level of language than the Toddler Group. This group is focused on increasing language (use and understanding) as well as increasing socialization skills. This group has a classroom ratio of 1 Speech Pathologist to 2 to 3 kids.

(35 sessions)

Preschool Group II (ages 3 – 6) Tuesday/Thursday 1:30 – 4:00

This group is designed for children who are already familiar with the classroom and social rules of preschool. These children use and understand a higher level of language than both the Toddler and Preschool I Group. This group is focused on increasing language (use and understanding), increasing socialization skills and introduces early pre-literacy skills. This group has a classroom ratio of 1 Speech Pathologist to 2 to 3 kids. (35 sessions)

Preschool Group III (ages 3 ½ – 6) Tuesday/Thursday 9:30 – 12:00

This group is designed for children who are already familiar with the classroom and social rules of preschool. These children use and understand a higher level of language than both Preschool I and Preschool II Group. This group is focused on increasing language (use and understanding), increasing higher level socialization skills, increasing pre-literacy skills and introduces early math skills. This group has a classroom ratio of 1 Speech Pathologist to 2 to 3 kids. (35 sessions)

Social Skills Group (ages 8 – 11) Wednesday 4:00 – 5:00

This group focusing on building and sustaining relationships by increasing socialization skills as well as language within socialization (such as: completing projects together, playing board/social games, working on conversational skills, writing in journals, etc.). This group has a classroom ratio of 1 Speech Pathologist to 3 to 4 kids. (18 sessions)

Parent/Caregiver Training Program

The Spring 2009 Parent/Caregiver Training Program is a new program consisting of 5 one hour training sessions for parents, siblings and caregivers. Parents will meet with their KidSpeak, LLC therapist once a month either at their house or at the KidSpeak, LLC office with/without their child. During this one hour monthly session, you will discuss any difficulties you may be having within any environments, you will discuss a variety a transitional supports, you will be trained on how to use transactional supports within a variety of environments and you will set goals for yourself. Each month you and your therapist will develop three goals for you (and/or the entire family) to work on for the month. The therapist will design a daily charting system to be completed daily to track progress as well as to analyze what is working and what is not working. At your monthly meeting you will go over these goals and make any adjustments. ** There is no deposit for this program**

All groups focus on the individualized social communication as well as socialization needs of each child. There is a $30 registration fee for each group (plus the tuition payment). Registration is due by Monday, December 15, 2008. If your child is not a current client of KidSpeak, LLC, your child must participate within a Speech and Language Evaluation. In addition, all children that participate within a Spring 2009 Group must participate within at least 1 weekly individual speech and language therapy session.
