Guest guest
Concerning Child Find law, the Guidance on Obligations of States and Local Education Agencies (LEA) to Parentally-placed Private School (in Texas homeschooling is considered "private school") Children with Disabilities and Proportionate Share Calculations (http://www.tea.state.tx.us/special.ed/private/psguide.pdf), item #4 reads: Q: "After July 1, 2005, which parentally-place private school children with disabilities receive proportionate share? A: Local Education Agencies are obligated to expend the proportionate share of funds for services, including direct services, to parentally-placed private school children with disabilities attending schools located in their area of jurisdiction." So I'll repeat what another parent on this list said, she received curriculum from her school district. Now whether she had to fight for it or if it was given willingly through the child find law, that I don't know. If the funds are all used up by now, then I could see how the district wouldn't pay for it, but it at least sounds plausible.
