Guest guest
I did not receive any responses from my e-mail. But I was not happy with our Doctor's office visit the AM. Lilly was first x-ray-ed in March at 44 degrees. We saw the Ortho in April and he said that she has resolving infantile scoliosis and he recommended a wait and see approach. I the got her MRI of her brain and spine. When we saw him today she was re-x-ray-ed. I laid her on the film and the tech barely adjusted her position and took the film. The Doctor comes in and says good news she is down to 36 degrees so it is resolving as I said. I began to quiz him in detail. He said that I read too much into what I read on the Internet. I told him that I was an RN and had a lot of belief in what I was researching. He said I did not have faith in his experience. I said I had done my research and I did not believe the "resolving" at this high of a degree was probable. He just said lets see her in four months and then if she is improving we will stretch it out as not to give she so much x-ray exposure. I said no treatment whatsoever. He said no. Then I went out to the main desk and ask for a copy of her xray. They said no problem, just wait a few minutes. Then the girl came out and said they were out of paper and I would have to go to the hospital in a few days and request a copy. I really think that he did not want me to have a copy. I am going to get a copy and send it to Dr. Strum in Chicago. I would feel a lot better if a Metha trained physician told me she did not need any treatment. She is 21 months old and still has no head or trunk control. The Doctor says that is not caused by her scoliosis. He is suppose to be the best scoliosis Doctor in Columbus. What do you all think? Thanks. ----- Forwarded Message ----To: infantile_scoliosis Sent: Wednesday, July 9, 2008 8:41:41 AMSubject: Lillyanna We are seeing our local Ortho on Friday. I have her DVD of her MRI of her spine. What are the really important things I need to ask him? Can someone give me the ranges on the degrees, RADD and Cobb angles? Thanks
