Guest guest
Theresa do you have maybe an easel board and or magnetic board. or what if you did of the felt stories where one tells of the story using the felt characters and you can make of it basic but it would be of a thing one has to do for her but it will make simple stories more visual? If she is of able to match then the new candy land game which is not a board game as in the past but now is of maked for preschoolers with a hard plastic piece that fits onto a gingerbread man where you have of to match the piece to teh shape. it is of to help with matching, shapes , colors and finished sorts of things. she sounds much like of me when I was to be of around age of 5 but the things that did interest of me at that time as far as objects were of cause and effects sorts of things. where if I to did one things the toy reacted this way. such as today they have of race tracks for preschoolers where you set the cars at the top and then release of them and watch them race down. while did not understand the associations to real race cars I to just liked of that movement and it maked me happy. I to had no real stereotyped girls or boy interest at that age it was of just cause and effect things/ To all, another things is no one ever teached me play or how things worked or why they would be of fun so had no real play as a child that was of typical in nature or development because no one helped me learn of them. I to lacked their names, their reasons and such so it was not a motivation for me to play with such things. I to remembered when was of age 8 got a toy mixer things and loived of hte cause and effect if I to turned it on the beater things twirled and this was of my main interest to the toy altogether, but it was enjoyed by me much so. I to also had of a peter pan book which was of my favorite things to carry everywhere for a time. the one good memory was of the birth father of me bouyed a kit where you maked of you own hands be of a face and so could decorate of it and then move of the thumb areas to make it look as if it were of speaking to a person and this was of intriguing and yet some fearful to me as did not understand it but he did expose of me to it. that memory took of years to develop to a logical understand of hte concept and so now can be of to look back to the past of it and see it for what it was....but what saying was for me it was of more inportant that adults or others around me expose me to the toys, do the play of the toy modeling it and how it works, naming it and such before it could bring me any motivation to want to seek of that toy for self. sometimes lack of play too is not just developmental and or cognitive, it can be of EF interfering and not being of able to know of how motor wise to activate it or play with it. it is of for some of us we may be mildly or severely impacted with movement and the body cognitively might know WHAT to do but the body does not cooperate to allow our bodies to move in ways to do the task we understand cognitively. it is of like of us putting 50 pound weights onto you wrist and legs and putting onn a blind fold and then telling you, to do a simple task of eating or drinking or going to the bathroom. since you are of a seeing person you can visualize and know what to do but because you have these huge weight and blindfolded it complicates doing what you know you need to do. or better yet think of it as havingthese things done to you and then expected to drive in a busy down town areas? now thing of hte over all frustrations and anxiety and fear for knowing how to do something but because of these barriers now cant do them because you have some limitations preventing you from them. it is of not a lazy thinking or a lack of motivations it is that the body does not cooperate motor wise. some of us cognitively cant understand the social aspects of playing with doll or social interactive play, it is of too advanced but we may enjoy as a baby just manipulating , tasting, carrying it, and things of that.. sondra
