250mg is probably low. My son is about 64lbs and same age as yours and he is taking 500mg 2x a day. We started 5 days ago. So far there's no bad reaction or any gains at all. My son is not taking any antifungal because the doc didn't think it was necessary. Is your son on Nizoral due to a yeast issue he's had or is it a must that valtrex be given with antifungal because it may aggrevate yeast overgrowth?? ?? This was actually my original question to the group because i'm a little confused why we have to do antifungal if there aren't any yeast concerns. I had asked our doc. since i read some posts about valtrex and he said he's never heard of valtrex causing yeast issues?????

I also wanted to ask you, are you doing SCD or other diets during this treatment? My son is not on any strict diet except casein free and also avoiding the IgGs. He doesn't seem to react to gluten so he eats it once in a while. We're definetly all organic and no sugar. Are you also doing lauricidin? I've been giving him that as well and i think it's good because it's a natural supplement.

Hello ,Sorry to hear that you have not had much luck. The good news is that your child appears to have few GI issues. Have you had the IgG test to check for food sensitivities? Have you chelated?My boy is 7yo and a mild responder. I have tried MANY things (valtrex, LDN, Yasko ...). Having read so much, I believe the entire autism problem boils down to toxicity. Everything else (GI issues, visual, stims ...) all result form that toxicity. One way or the other, the body needs to be cleaned up. Therefore, back to the question -- have you chelated? If so, has he been dexoxified? Have you performed a porphyrins test to measure metal toxicity? If he is toxic, then CHELATE. If he is still autistic after chelating and verifying that he is no longer toxic, then its time to fix the damage. He will need good schooling.
