Guest guest
Check out the recommendations on safe dental care on the Autism Research Insttitute website: http://www.autism.com/ari/dental.htm It's important to go to a mercury-free dentist who takes special precautions in removing your amalgams. My amalgams have been removed and replaced with porcelain, but I still have a problem with mercury in my body tissue from the unsafe removal (at a regular dentist office) and from the 30 years of having them in my mouth! If you switch to infant formula, make sure the water you use for mixing it is pure. Residential water can often be unsafe, even when boiled. Sue M. My Amalgyms.... I was eating a hot dog of all things today and bit into something and part of my amalgym broke off. I was able to spit it out and did not swallow it. However, I am currently breastfeeding. I posted a question before about breastfeeding if you have a mouth full of amalgyms and got mixed results. On one hand, you are pretty much guaranteed to not get metals from an infant formula, but on the other hand, if metals are already present in the baby, the mother's immunity that is passed to the baby may help in the long run. My 4 yr. old has ASD and is high functioning. I nursed him only a few months and supplemented with formula even during that time. I am wondering which one is better....giving formula to make sure no metals are passing through or continue nursing for immunity reasons. I am sick that part of my amalgym just came out. They are old and brittle and need to be replaced. Should I visit a dental specialist to see if they could possibly remove them? Please help..... Guest guest
Also check out www.iaomt.org. I certainly wouldn't have any amalgam removed while breast feeding. Make sure any dentist uses a respirator (and a dam) to suck out the fumes while drilling. I went to a " holistic dentist " to have massive amalgams out safely about 15 years ago. He did not use a respirator and took too many out at once. I've never been the same. It's such toxic stuff so be really careful.
