Guest guest
Marla Bariatric Advantage is a good product. But can you use it to replace ADEKs? That depends on the reason you were taking ADEKs. Did you just start taking it because you wanted to be pro-active? Or did Dr. K say to take it...and why...are you low on something? Dr. K gave a thumbs up on the Aquadeks at a support meeting a couple months ago. He was brought literature and from what he read he determined that it was still in a water miscible form and therefore okay for us to take. Compare Aquadeks vitamin level with the Bariatric Advantage and YOU make the determination what you should do. Aquadeks: 18,167 IU Vitamin A 800 IU Vitamin D 50 IU vitamin E 700 mcg vitamin K Plus assorted water soluable vitamins. If you are having a problem with..oh lets say...vitamin D but everything else is fine. You may want to use bariatric advantage and only take an additional Vitamin D...instead of trying to take individual pills for each vitamin. Right now I am choosing to take a multi (kirkland), Kirkland calcium citrate, Vitamin A, Vitamin D, Vitamin K, and Iron. The advantage of doing this is I can tweek individual vitamins as needed. But I do hate all the extra bottles hanging around. Hugs Jo ====================== > I am sick of taking each vitamin separately since the unavailability of the ADEK pills we were originally told to take. Would this be a good replacement multiple without supplementing A,D,E & K separately? This is from VitaLady. Cost is $36.99 for 180 count. Why take 2 - 3 tablets when ADEK's only required one? > Marla > WA State > As of 12/06 information taken from the manufacturer's product label currently in stock. Guest guest
A few days ago I bought a couple of bottles (60 Softgel Capsules) of ADEK on the internet. Guest guest
Without seeing the actual product, " softgel " tips me off that the vitamins are in their fat soluable form, not water soluable like we need, so we won't absorb as much as we may need - if any! > > A few days ago I bought a couple of bottles (60 Softgel Capsules) of ADEK on the internet. Guest guest
I wouldn't make assumptions. Time will tell. For example, I take beta carotene in soft gels and do fine. Guest guest
Aquadeks being in a softgel formula had many folks questioning if it was in a formula that we could absorb. AquAdek's formulation was looked over by Dr. K at a support meeting and he stated that it was formulated in a way that is absorb-able by us. The whole " microsphere technology " basically wraps itself around the fat soluble vitamin and tricks the body into accepting it like a water soluble vitamin. Kinda, sorta, in a very simplistic explanation. Taken from AquAdeks literature: AquADEKs™ Softgels are a complete nutritional supplement specifically designed to meet the needs of cystic fibrosis patients and those who have difficulty absorbing fat-soluble vitamins and nutrients.* AquADEKs™ uses microsphere technology to enhance the absorption of this antioxidant rich multivitamin and mineral supplement.
