Guest guest
So I said my labs were fine and then I noticed two things. My BUN level is low and my iron binding is high. Regular iron is fine- I am not anemic. Can someone explain what those other two levels are? Vicki
Guest guest
Don't worry about your Blood Urea Nitrogen being low. That is insignificant. I can't think of any disease that is associated with low BUN. The TIBC, well, that is an estimate of your iron, but I prefer to check the ferritin which represents the storage iron. I only have four, they are playing four-handed stud right now. Marta who has named her ferritins > > So I said my labs were fine and then I noticed two things. Guest guest
So that doesnt mean I have an iron problem? I know you are going to laugh at this one but my dog had blood work done before getting a procedure done. Showed the BUN levels about 5 above normal. They said it could be kidneys. Of course I am freaking out- he goes in again next week to recheck. Anyway- when I saw that, I immediately thought kidney problem!! Guest guest
No, it doesn't Vicki, but it does mean your butt will fall in about a week. :-) _____ From: DS_Friends_Keshishian [mailto:DS_Friends_Keshishian ] On Behalf Of JAMES & VICKI PLOUGH Sent: 19 June 2008 21:30 To: DS_Friends_Keshishian Subject: Re: Re: Weird So that doesnt mean I have an iron problem? Guest guest
If your BUN was high, it could mean a kidney problem or you aren't drinking enough water, it depends. Too low, not significant, as I said. Maybe you are too skinny? lol Not producing much BUN. Well, maybe you are fully saturated with iron, so to speak. Your doc will tell you if you have a problem or not. I don't think I even got a TIBC, not sure. Too lazy to go look. Marta > > So that doesnt mean I have an iron problem?
