Well I can't believe what the doc told me today. He canceled my surgery,

which was set for Monday. The reason given, my arm is too bad. I know my mouth

dropped four inches when he said he was canceling because my arm was too bad.

What the heck was that about. I knew my arm was really bad. It had gotten

much worse since I had last seen him in April, but too bad for surgery. The

fact

I cannot raise my arm at all to me meant I really needed the surgery. He

said there is no problem with the fact that you have a badly torn rotator cuff

and bicep, that is clear from the MRI, but the fact you cannot move your arm

means that you would not have use of it after surgery, probably ever, so he

would not do the surgery. He said we need to get it in better shape first. He

gave me a cortisone/lidocaine shot and waited about fifteen minutes and had me

bend over and do a pendulum movement and then go to the door and take my

other arm and lift my bad arm up and then finger walk part way up the door. At

least I was able to do something with my bad arm. So now I have to come back

next Wednesday and we will go from there. There is no idea of when I will be

having surgery. He may send me to therapy first. I knew I was going after

surgery, but now I may be going before also. Oh well... I will do what I have to

do. I was disappointed, as I was looking forward to getting this arm fixed.

Now to us, looks like we can have lunch sometimes. One of the places I

thought of that you might like here is Sweet Tomatoes. It is a salad buffet

place

that has usually three kinds of soups, usually a couple of things on the

pasta line, and then a dessert area that has fruit, ice cream, pudding, jello

and

they also have different kinds of homebaked breads. It is a place where you

pay one price. You have to pay for your drink separately, otherwise it is all

buffet style. My daughter and I go there quite often. She loves it. Any day

would be fine with me. In fact if you wouldn't mind her coming along, I

wouldn't have to hurry off to get her. Otherwise I have to pick her up at her

school at two. Right now on Tues and Thurs. she is out all day. I have an appt.

with the doc next week on Wed. the 30th, otherwise I am open. Or I can come to

Visalia.
