What does a hernia feel like?

I have a lump ... probably bigger than a fist ... along the lower side

of my incision scar and it is a bit painful. Im not sure what a hernia

feels like but I have read it is pretty common to get after wls. I know

that sometimes I can feel it a lot better than other times but it has

been bothering me a lot since yesterday afternoon. Any ideas ...

Quick but unofficial check if it's a hernia, lie flat on your back, then

start to do a sit-up, but only raise your head and sholders a few inches.

If the lump you suspect is a hernia, it will appear to get a little larger

and harder. That pretty much would confirm what you are thinking. If it

is hurting you, call the office and have it checked out ASAP.
