In honor of Mark:

I first met Mark Sachnik about 12 years ago when the autism society of collin

county was first getting started. At the time I was in such awe of him, here he

was an individual with autism who communicates well, has a college degree and so

friendly and social. Over the years I've gotten to know Mark really well since

he has been intimately involved in the autism society and I have to tell you, my

awe for him grew even more.

Mark was one of the sweetest, most decent human beings you ever wanted to know,

always eager to learn, to improve himself, and to help . He loved people, loved

to go to parties and gatherings, drink a couple of beers. Mark was an avid

cyclist, he completed 10,000 miles this year, that was his goal for 2007, and he

was so excited when he did, he sent me an email with a picture of him on his

bycyle and an entry to a blog he made about his accomplishment.

Mark was the 1st vice president of ther autism society of collin county for over

6 years, he headed the self advocacy group, he was a presenter at the state

conference on autism, he also presented at ASA national conference last year.

Mark belonged to the Knights of Colombus, he was active in his church and he had

great faith in God.

Besides all his volunteer work, Mark worked full time for UTD in their

purchasing department as a purchasing agent.

Mark was my very good friend, we served on the autism society board together,

traveled to conferences together, and went to parties and social gatherings

together. Despite having autism, Mark always tried his best, one of his

proudest moments was doing Cycle USA from the border of Texas to the other

border of Oklahoma to raise money for ASA.

Mark had a wonderful sense of humor. He was a great friend, well loved by so

many people and he will be missed by so many people.

Even though I am very saddened, I know the angels in heaven have a bigger smile

on their face tonight, Mark passed away yesterday in his sleep.

I will miss you terribly Mark.

Oh no!!! That is so tragic! Mark was such a great guy and such an

inspiration. We had a " standing date " at the state autism conference for a

drink.

Do you know anything about arrangement details, Nagla?
