Guest guest
I was able to get an appointment for myself and Charlie this month. I asked some of the parents whose children are in TAP with Charlie but no one has seen him. This will be my first experience with a DAN doctor and I am a little nervous. The receptionist gave me so much information and then said that I needed to bring some things but I can't for the life of me remember what they were. Please help me. I am loosing my mind trying to remember what all I need to take. Jenn
Guest guest
Hey Jenn, I was also able to get an appointment with Dr. Rao. My appointment is in February. I was told to send a 1 to 2 page letter concerning my son's history before the initial appointment. You should begin with pregnancy, include any complications, indicate when and what symptoms were first noticed, and discuss interventions that you've attempted. You are also supposed to bring a picture of your child to the initial appointment. I hope this helps. If you happen to remember something I didn't mention please let me know. Guest guest
Its good to do a brief history on your son. Also take a copy of his shot record if he has had vaccines. Something's to make notes on: Has your son been on any medications, antibiotics, steroids, asthma medications, stomach meds. been in the hospital, was his birth without problems or were there issues? Any illness, rashes, skin problems, eye problems, hearing issues How are your son's bowel movements - how many, solid, runny, food in stool, color, etc. What foods does your child eat, and drink. Speech, can he talk, how many words, if limited or other language disorders sensory issues - do clothing bother him, does he like to be touched or not, etc.. Is your child in school, if so what if any therapies does he receive. If this is not your natural child, what is his background Is he on track of his growth, and weight I would fax them a copy of the info and take the copy with you to your first appt. Like others mentioned, do take toys, snacks and maybe an extra person who can watch your son while you speak to DR Rao -- I have found this helps me stay focused. He is a wonderful DR - I cannot say enough about him. BTW: He does use a lot of EDTA for chelation now - and there are lot of treatment options. **************Start the year off right. Easy ways to stay in shape. http://body.aol.com/fitness/winter-exercise?NCID=aolcmp00300000002489
