Guest guest
Had a blood draw on my son yesterday. His blood was so thick it clotted in the vials and didn't even move. It was almost solid. The nurse was shocked. What could this indicate? She was able to draw more from another vein and this blood was better, moving around in the vial at least. Thanks. gfcfmom
Guest guest
Sounds to me as if she didn't have a good stick in the vein, perhaps it was collapsing. The lining of the veins can trigger clotting factor when injured, if it wasn't a clean stick this could have been the problem. Still, I think I might wanna request a coagulation test, this is where they can prick the finger & then take a drop or two & see how long it takes to clot. Has he ever had any other bleeding issues, like getting a significant cut & not bleeding or it being unusually thick? Debi
