Guest guest
Dear Mari; I, too, use NSAIDS for relief from my EN. I use the naproxen version, though, since ibuprofen doesn't give me any relief (even for headaches!). I have a theory that different bodies respond to different families of medicine. I have no idea just how it works but I know that the naproxen family of drugs (Aleve, Naprosyn, Anaprox) give me good pain and anti-inflammation relief while ibuprofen does next to nothing. MY daughters, however, swear by ibuprofen! Go figure! I hope you continue to enjoy a speedy recover from this latest bout! Shins up! Bobby -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Guest guest
Sorry, I got a phone call at work and cut my question short! NSAIDs= Non steroid anti-inflamitory drugs....mortin etc. My PCP said that I couldn't/shouldn't take them. I have had other people tell me that too but I don't remember ever hearing that from Dr K or a DSer. Guest guest
Isnt a NSAID an anti depressant? I take them (Lamictal) and Dr Z knows I take meds. Hmm- maybe I should call the office and ask. If doc, Jo or Mel dont answer, I will do that. Vicki Cochran wrote: Sorry, I got a phone call at work and cut my question short! Guest guest
NSAIDS are not specifically counter-indicated for DSers. We do not suffer from their side effects as badly as do gastric bypassers. It is individual, however, and your doc knows you better than us. I have patients who cannot/should not ever take NSAIDS and they never had stomach or weight loss surgery. Guest guest
Ok, but how does he come to that conclusion? I can't ask him because he is no longer my PCP. I've never had a reaction to taking them and he never said anything to me about it. I think since he kept saying that I had the Gastric bypass, he is just assuming that it applys to me. They also tried to get me to take B12. My level is 999! Dr K said I didn't need it. ;0) C > > NSAIDS are not specifically counter-indicated for DSers. Guest guest
You didn't stick with him long enough for him to realize that there is another WLS other than the RGB. lol Marta > > Ok, but how does he come to that conclusion?
