ARE YOU A SNEEZER?Through reposting bulletins, you can exert power and influence. Here is how:I. Malcom Gladwell, author of The Tipping Point introduced us to the notion that an idea can become contagious, in precisely the same way that a virus does.II. Just like a cold virus that can get spread by people sneezing, so can an idea be spread by SNEEZERS. According to Seth Godin, author of Unleasing the Ideavirus, Sneezers are people who are more likely to tell their friends about a new idea. Here on Myspace, a sneezer is a person who is more likely to pass along a bulletin by reposting it.Let us see how this works. While, I do not know the actual facts and figures, I'll just pick some realistic numbers to make this point. Let's say the average number of friends each of you has is 400. Further, let us say that 2 percent of friends are SNEEZERS (those who repost bulletins on a fairly regular basis). Now, you post a bulletin to your friends that you hope will be read by them and that some of them will pass it along to their friends by reposting it:1. Your bulletin goes to 400 friends2. Two percent of your friends repost it to their friends. Two percent of 400 is 8 friends repost it to their friends. They each have 400 friends. Potentially reaching an additional 3200 (assuming minimal overlap of friends).3. Two percent of 3200 people (64 people) repost it to their friends (64 X 400 = 25,600 people).4. Shall we go one more time? Okay, three percent of 25,600 is 768. 768 times 400 is 307,200. So, you can see how your one bulletin can potentially reach over 300,000 people in a very short period of time. When you repost a bulletin for a friend you are sending out his or her bulletin into cyberspace where it can spread like wildfire.This is one reason, why people want you to repost their bulletins. It is also a way to show your friend great respect by reading and sending those bulletins that you think your friends would like.Certain movements gain momentum on the internet. When you participate by reposting, you are actively participating in spreading the word. That gives you more power than you may have realized when you hit that post button.

The message here is: If you are a SNEEZER, you have POWER.Oh! BTW - If you want to increase the percentage of SNEEZERS in your friends, read the bulletins and click on the links to the people who posted and reposted the bulletins. These are the SNEEZERS.
