toilet fascination? water fascination? HELP!!!!!

Do kids on the spectrum tend to gravitate towards water? ie. love to play in

it? I have always

read about them liking toilets....

My 4year old son has been caught drinking and playing out of the toilet several

times now,

both at daycare and at home. He uses his hands, cups, or items from the play

kitchen. Yuck!

And last night he took his pants off and swished them around in the toilet. When

I try to talk

to him it goes something like this and I can't seem to get through to him.

Please advise!!!!!

Mom: COllier why did you drink out of the toilet?

Collier: Yes I did, mom.

Mom: Yes, I know you did drink out of the toilet, why did you do that? I drank

out of the

toilet because?......

Collier: I drank out of the toilet because I need to go to time out.

Mom: No, I am not asking for you to go to time out. I want to know why you

drank water out

of the toilet.

Collier: I drank water out of the toilet, yes I did.
