Guest guest
Donna - we are supposed to get that much snow and then some! It started around 10:00am and it is kicking butt and it is COLD! This morning I wanted to get in more cardio so I went with FitPrim Fast Cheetah with Tracie Long. I really enjoyed the medicine ball work and have some good soreness now. I too am going to try to get some yoga in this afternoon or evening - I think I will need it with all the shoveling we are going to have to do. Kathy Saturday Morning Hi,Today I did Sansone's Walk & Jog -- it was a bit on the light side for me, but I think I can up the intensity a bit by adding some handweights and making the moves bigger. After that I did the tall box work (upped my weights from last time to 12 lbs -- I figure my legs haven't gotten bulky from carrying around my DD who must weigh at least 25 lbs by now - so a total of 24 lbs for leg presses isn't likely to do it either - right?) and the floor work and abs from V5. I love the floorwork in this one and the ab work seems endless. I did all the push-ups on my toes!! I'm not crazy about the aerobics in V5 which is why I did W & J. I should have done Kathy 's Project:YOu Power Push instead of W & J, so I could get a feel for what it is like doing BEFORE another workout, but I wasn't thinking clearly this morning, LOL!I plan to do a bit of yoga later.Have a good day everyone - we're supposed to get 8-14 inches of snow here in land.Take care,Donna
Guest guest
Hi, I will actually be in on Sunday and was in N Vegas today. I live in Tuolumne near Sonora in Tuolumne County. I couldn't get over Sonora Pass to Hwy 395 and had to go down to Bakersfield and across to Hwy 15 and North to Vegas. I am a military vet from the Vietnam era. Dick > I live off of Blue Diamond Hwy., it's not far from where your at, you will see it on your way out of town if you go home taking the 15 .......So what part of Cali are do you live in ? I notice you posted saying it only took you 9 hrs to get here .............Northern Cali by any chance ? It sounds like your visit here was an important one , you state vet conference ........here in Vegas that could be a military vet or a veternarian ,lol > Re: Saturday Morning > > > > Yes, I am in Vegas for business. Guest guest
You bet I will. The number one issue on the table right now is Veteran health care. You will see in the next week thatthe VA budget is going be see a drastic cut. Unbelievable as we add more veterans into the system from the war on terrorism. Look for a LARGE demonstration to take place in DC in the Spring to protest these cuts in the budget. Dick > > Hey Dick , so your here in Vegas huh? I am in Vegas also ! Guest guest
Have Bruce pay attention to what comes out of DC this week. The veterans reaction to this will not be sour grapes about a Republican election victory, but about what the government promised us all for serving our Country and is a bi-partisan issue. My organization is working with 7 other Veteran Service Organizations to bring all of this to the Congress with a demonstration in DC. Please don't forget that the vet population has a higher infection rate for Hep C than the general population. VA budget cuts will have a huge effect on treatment for vets. Guest guest
Will you be there in DC for father's day in June? When I get back home I would like to talk with you and get some details about your brother. There might be a chance his name can get on a new memorial for those that passed after the war from causes from the war. Anyway, I am going to check the messages for about 10 more minutes or so....damn hotel dial up only gives me 30 minutes free time before they start charging 10 cents a minute..... Dick > My brother died not long after he was released from duty in viet nam ......I couldnt get his name on the wall cause he died of a liver disease after the end of the war and I couldnt prove his disease was service related . I go to DC in June for him , for his memory ....I have nothing but respect for you vets

Guest guest
Good morning! Yesterday, I stopped to purchase some parrot food, for my new Conure. I always look at the animals, when I go to pet shops and they had some parakeets, all colors. So, I noticed a parakeet on the floor of the cage, with his head all swollen. I couldn't even tell if he had eyes! He had to hold his head back, with the beak up in the air, just to swallow and breathe. I asked the clerk, what was wrong with the parakeet. He said, the parakeet started getting like that, right after he hatched. He is only 2 months old and lately it's been getting worse. The clerk said he would die in a day or two. And no, he hadn't been taken to a vet, the clerk said, "It's only a parakeet". I will let you decide what he meant. My interpretation isn't favorable. I said, give him to me, I can't stand to see an animal suffering. He did. Last night, I researched to see what herbs, birds eats in the wild; what homeopathic medicine is given to birds; how one raises a baby bird by hand; and illnesses of parakeets. Learned a lot. I don't believe a 2 month old bird is weaned so soon, to seeds, and this could have been part of the problem. So, guessing, I made up a tincture of Echinacea, yucca, fenugreek, water, garlic, red clover and arnica. I already had the herbal tinctures, as I keep them on hand. I fed him 2 doses last night and water, using a syringe, one drop each time. Gave him water with a syringe, but couldn't get any food down. I Reikied him and prayed. This morning, the swelling in his face was down by half!!! He still won't drink or eat on his own. So, he has had two doses of the tincture, I made and several drops of water. He has actually chirped some today! I purchased a baby bird formula, that I will feed him with a syringe. Monday, I am taking him to the vet, because something is wrong with his upper bill. Part of it seems detached, which could have been caused by the swelling. From my studies, I believe the 2 month old bird had slow crop, which went into a fungal infection. Slow crop is from feeding the baby bird incorrectly, injuries, birth defects, and general poor care. Now, I will not purchase animals at a pet store, as most of the time, pet stores don't feed their animals nutritious food. They also, aren't taken care of good. I don't even buy my pet food there, but I wanted larger seeds to add to the fruits and vegetables I feed them. It's a learning process. Thank Spirit for the Internet! Why am I sharing this with you? To show how the herbs can heal our animals! Of Course, Love (that's what I named him) isn't cured yet and I pray he will survive, but he has improved vastly. I will be tied up for a few days, taking care of Love. I have to keep him and his cage clean, make sure he gets water, my tincture and try to get him to eat his gruel. Bless everyone. Love, Joy
