For those who don't already know, my 2 1/2 yr old son is exhibiting signs of autism. His form of play is a bit out of the norm, he doesnt play with toys in the usual manner. He has this toy that has little pop up things when you twist a knob or move a flap. One particular flap wouldnt pop up and he got angrier by the second, he would not leave it alone kept bringing it to me and when I couldnt get it to come up I finally pried open the flap and found what he was fussing about......his pacifier. Once he got his pacifier he quickly forgot about the toy and kept looking at the floor and acting funny. Took me a minute to figure what was going on.....he found his shadow and was awed by it, he was sitting there on the kitchen floor and trying to figure what in the world this shadow was in front of him, he was like a dog chasing his tail, only he couldnt catch it. This went to for a few hrs, I wish I could have recorded it, it was priceless. He kept calling my attention and showing me the shadow, he got upset though if he turned towards the light and the shadow was no longer there only to turn around and see it on the other side when he has his back to the light. He seemed to obsess over this strange new thing he discovered. The i’m Talkathon starts 6/24/08.  For now, give amongst yourselves. Learn More
