Both my girls were in a study at the UW. This was a few yrs back now, and

it was

a genetic study involving families with autism. Drew blood and all that and

filled

out TONS of paperwork over several weeks...... the UW is a wonderful

contributor to the autism community , not only locally, but nationwide as

well.

That is absolutely great news, Beth! Yay, Kate! :-) It's so great

to see someone moving in the right direction.

Yep, there is a good possibility there will be a " when " . But, you now

have the tools and " know how " , so you are armed and ready, so to

speak. And the doc will be there when and if you need him again.

Great news! Thanks for sharing.

few " bad spells " before she'll admit it -- but, once she recognizes it

as OCD she is really good about doing what is necessary to put the

thoughts at bay.

He said it could be a month or a year or even longer but he strongly

suspects he hasn't seen the last of Kate.

cover " Child Psycology " visits but NOT " Family " visits. This is just

nuts! We are Kate's parents and WE are the ones who are her

day-to-day coaches in this battle. By removing the parents from

therapy the insurance company is eliminating the biggest weapon (at

least in our case!). The psych says he can't legally call it a child

psych visit if we're in the room . . . unfortunately all but one of

our visits was a " family " visit.
