It basically means your body is slow to compensate blood volume when you rise or stand. I have had it before, and it was medication related when I was taking a different medication. I bet your doc thinks that increasing salt will give you more blood volume(in effect boosting the BP a little) I have to be really careful when I take any diuretics as it causes me to do the same thing. I've never heard of so many people with vertigo at one time in my life. :-( I'll let you know what the GP says next week. ____________ Jim, Are you having true vertigo or are you having what Bobbe Described, and have problems when you stand or change positions? I have had both before and while neither one is fun, causes are different. When I had true vertigo(inner ear trouble) I got car sick while sitting still and feel like the room is moving or suddenly tilts off balance. Sometimes it feels like the ride has stopped but my head hasn't caught up. Hypotension to me feels like things are going dark when I stand up suddenly or I see spotty images that gets better as I stand or i have to sit down because I feel as though I'm going to fall down. I was wondering how it was affecting you. Mel **************Start the year off right. Guest guest
No, it's not just when I standup/change position. You've described it below rather accurately, Mel. I can be standing in line and all the sudden I'm so dizzy that I cannot stand up. I'm even using a cane because I'm so unsteady on my feet. I'll take four or five steps and have to stop, leaning on the cane for balance, until I can take a few more steps. I have the same " spells " just sitting here working on the computer or laying flat in bed. And you are so right, it *is* no fun at all. _____ From: DS_Friends_Keshishian [mailto:DS_Friends_Keshishian ] On Behalf Of MDL1031@...
