Our new precious miracle, Kayla is the greatest blessing that I could imagine. I just got some news that has tears rolling down my cheeks in happiness: The birth parents are relinquishing their parental rights. I was so prepared that there would be a year to two year appeal process without being able to truly make little Kayla ours. The word is not official, but I even talked with the birth mother by phone right before they were to go to court (via the social worker, of course). It was a surreal moment as I talked with this woman who has given up so much by her choices and I have been the recipient of her three children.
