Guest guest
Hi Jim, Just over two years ago.. I too suffered from a very bad case of vertigo.. it wasn't until 8 weeks of testing and two ER visits that I was finally diagnosed with a very bad case of Valley Fever and Whooping Cough at the same time while trying to overcome a terrible allergic reaction to antibiotics that had been prescribed for the pneumonia that turned out to be the Valley fever.. anyway.. it took almost 4 months for the vertigo to pass and all five of my doctors said there was no treatment for it so I just waited it out.. I hope you don't have to wait that long.. good luck to you.. Janice **************Start the year off right. Guest guest
I am the self-declared Queen of Vertigo... and the first person I ever heard of whose pcp prescribed MORE salt in my diet! But I suspect it's primarily from rising too fast... so I stay in bed until about 10 a.m. (and you think I'm kidding). [my Maxine type sense of humor] Just the other night I got up from my recliner, did a 180, and fell belly down on top of my chairside table, spilling my 3 cup water glass all over everything imaginable. What a mess - and I'm trying to stay upright while sopping it up with towels. Don't think you're alone, Jim... just not in very good company!!! Bobbe in Paso. 285=24. 3/03. 167=16. Guest guest
From comments of local friends, there may be something going around. I've never heard of so many people with vertigo at one time in my life. :-( I'll let you know what the GP says next week. I told a friend that it's as if I've been on a toot without the benefit of enjoying the booze. It's just no fun at all. _____ From: DS_Friends_Keshishian [mailto:DS_Friends_Keshishian ] On Behalf Of BobbeDS@... Guest guest
Ah, I had forgotten about that, Janice. I have some other symptoms (like what I've decided is my bronchitis acting up and coughing spells wherein I cough until I vomit) so I better see if I can shame the doctor into an earlier appointment. Guest guest
Mel you described my symptoms to a T. I have inner ear issues and every so often will have vertigo for a week or so. The car sickness feeling is right on the money. Spring and Winter is when it acts up for me. COuld be alot of other things, I understand, but Vertigo does come and go with me during certain times of the year. Awful feeling too. Many people in my family experience it so the doc gives me meds for dizziness and I just deal with it until it is gone. Jim- I hope you feel better. I know it is very uncomfy. I have had both before and while neither one is fun, causes are different. When I had true vertigo(inner ear trouble) I got car sick while sitting still and feel like the room is moving or suddenly tilts off balance. Sometimes it feels like the ride has stopped but my head hasn't caught up. Hypotension to me feels like things are going dark when I stand up suddenly or I see spotty images that gets better as I stand or i have to sit down because I feel as though I'm going to fall down. I was wondering how it was affecting you. Mel **************Start the year off right.
