Guest guest
Hi all, I just wanted to pass along this fabulous resource. Vanderbilt University in Nashville has an Autism Treatment and Research Institute (TRIAD). I contacted them in April of THIS year, and we had our evaluation the last week of June. They told me that they are committed to getting kids in for appointments in less than 2-3 months. Our evaluation lasted over 4 hours, and Abby was given 1 on 1 for both observational evaluation, as well as testing. It was structured such that Abby's needs were closely monitored, and she did not become over stimulated or overly tired. We were allowed to observe the entire evaluation via 2-way mirror, and were asked if her responses/behaviors were typical for her, etc. My husband and I were interviewed for almost 2 hours in a very informal and comfortable setting where we were able to ask tons of questions. Dr. Zachary Warren was the psychologist that did our entire evaluation (both with our daughter and with us). He then got a very thorough written report to us in less than a week (both written and PDF). He has given us his email and direct extension phone number, and encouraged us to be in touch with any questions. The report practically speaks directly to the school system and other healthcare providers regarding our daughter's needs. The cost was very reasonable with a scholarship sliding fee scale. The maximum cost is $1400, but we only paid $600, most of which we will get reimbursed by insurance (they don't file insurance, but will provide all documentation necessary for you to file - and will cooperate with pre-auth requirements). Families with AGI up to $100K will get a significant fee discount off of the fees at Vandy. Check them out! Let me know if you have any questions. www.triadatvanderbilt.com Jodi
Guest guest
I agree. We did this testing when my son was first diagnosed and it was a God send and helped us decide a direction with his interventions.. Loved them so much my son is on the front of the TRIAD pamphets and we did the TODAY series on Autism with them a few years ago. Dr. Stone and her team was the best! Great resource and Great Docs!
