Guest guest
Vic just called (8 pm on Wednesday night) and said that is in no shape for visitors or phone calls. She feels like hell and when he told me what Dr. Keshishian had to do I understand why. Evidently she had a big hiatal hernia which they had to repair. Then the suspected small hernia they knew about turned into a much larger hernia. So they had to repair that one, too. Surgery took lots longer than planned. She is up and walking but last night told him to not talk and to go to the motel. She has her pain pump. She doesn't know if she has any pain from the DS and is only aware of her chest hurting from the hiatal hernia. I asked if she got the cranky night nurse and he said he didn't know but that a nurse during the day who was dressed in yellow hadn't made a good impression. I told him to complain to Dee or the hospital if it got bad. Does anyone know a good florist that you would trust with a credit card number to deliver her flowers? I think I need to cheer her up. Today was black Wednesday here. I went to the eye doctor (no insurance, of course) and he said I had the very beginning of cataracts and then I ordered glasses to the tune of $575.00. He said I won't need surgery for another ten years or so. Then I went to the dentist to get a crown re-cemented and found out that I had actually broken off the tooth and now need an implant there with the resulting crown to the tune of thousands. I do have $1500 worth of insurance for that this year. Dang! Just when I think I have extra money for the SUV and the new TV being paid off something like this comes up. I should be grateful we have the money to pay for it. I wish I could come to the February meeting as my three year DS anniversary is February 9th. I should get my lab request sometime soon. I would love to see Anita since she was one of the people who helped me make the decision back in 2004 to have the surgery. Even met me at the Olive Garden for lunch when I could have been a stalker or crazy person. Wait, maybe I am crazy. Ha, Ha. My brachioplasty is looking much better now and I am so pumped that I can wear a vest and my arms don't gross anyone out. Of course, I am wearing three quarter length shirts but still I haven't been able to do that in years. Jim was right about the joy of not having a panni. I look down and I am amazed. Well, this is much longer than I anticipated. Must be the Vitamin B complex and the protein drink I had for dinner. I always get energized when I do that. I think that is why I don't sleep well after I do that. Marla WA State (proud to be P's friend) **************Start the year off right. Guest guest
Marla My SIL is having surgery in the morning (thurs). A few years ago she had a Lateral Gastrectomy (stomach only) procedure with Dr. K. She is having a hernia repair.... Anyhow, I will probably be going to Visit her either Thurs. evening or Friday. Hopefully will be feeling a bit better because I plan on stopping in and saying Hi. If she doesn't feel up to saying Hi, I'll chat with Vic...I'm sure he will enjoy speaking to someone who isn't on drugs. lol.
