1622 - cwd *The Butterfly Dance*

Cyber Weekly Devotion1622 - cwd *The Butterfly Dance* For Week Ending Friday August 28Volume 10 Number 34Today’s Author: Pastor BillNOTE FROM PASTOR BILL: We hope you have been enjoying our weekly devotion --- if this has been an encouragement and you would like to receive our daily devotion (Monday-Friday) please reply to me with “YES” or by clicking this link http://cwd3003.org/yes.htmScripture: I 6:12a “Fight the good fight for what we believe. Hold tightly to the eternal life that God has given you” NLT A man found a cocoon of a butterfly. He decided to watch it for progress. One day a small opening appeared. He sat and watched the butterfly for several hours as it struggled to force its body through the little hole. Then it seemed to stop making any progress. It appeared as if it had gotten as far as it could, and it could go no further. So to help the butterfly, he took a pair of scissors and snipped off a bit of the cocoon. The butterfly then emerged easily. But it had a swollen body and small, shriveled wings. The man continued to watch the butterfly because he expected that, at any moment, the wings would enlarge and expand and away the butterfly would fly.Neither happened! In fact, the butterfly spent the rest of its life crawling around with a swollen body and shriveled wings. It never was able to fly.The man, in his kindness and haste, did not understand the life and times of a butterfly. You see the restricting cocoon and the struggle required for the butterfly to get through the tiny opening were God's way of making the butterfly strong. The fight to wiggle its way out of the cocoon was actually forcing fluid from the body of the butterfly into its wings. The more the butterfly fought the cocoon the stronger he became until he would finally emerge ready for flight.Sometimes struggles are exactly what we need in our lives. If God allowed us to go through our lives without any difficulties, it might cripple us. We would then not be as strong as what we could have been. We could never fly!Prayer: Father thank you for the adversity in my life to make me stronger. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. AmenThis email is being sent to: bjoyful@...Copyright © 2009 – Cyber Weekly Devotion -
