Yes, seizures can stop after starting antivirals.  Some seizures are viral related.  It doesn't mean that all kids with seizures will stop with antivirals but it does happen often. Our petit mal seizures stopped after starting Valtrex. His viral

cycling seemed to normalize. He got regular colds with regular symptoms

like all the other kids not 7 days of cycling fever and tiny bouts of

energy with seizure activity.

Our experience -- hope it helps.

The Virus is causing seizure activity. This is a cause for my son's

seizures. Check out research by Binstock, LKS and herpes.

I don't know about valtrex, although......... is he on SCD diet ?

To my surprise It was intersting how much the book, 'Breaking the

Vicious Cycle-intestinal health thgough diet,' has on seizures; and

Gut and brain, as well as autism. It Had me sold, we are now on the

diet. Haven't witnessed any seizure activity since starting it.
