Guest guest
I'm nine days from DS-Day (January 15th) now and I've been reviewing my patient handbook like mad trying to get all prepared. Regarding post-surgery diet, I keep encountering " creamy soups " as a recommended item, but always with the notation of " no milk. " Every creamy soup I've encountered lists cream and/or milk as one of the ingredients, so just what kinds of " creamy " soup are we allowed to eat that don't have milk in them? I'd like to stock up on some stuff so I don't have to go to the grocery store as soon as I get back to town. Also, those of you who came from out of town like I will, did you bring food items with you, or utensils to prepare stuff in the motel room, or what? Did you bring protein powder to make shakes with? I'm not sure exactly how to plan for eating those (few!) things that will be allowed after discharge to the motel room. Also, did you bring your calcium and vitamins with you or did you wait to start taking those until you got back home? OK, I seem to be focusing on the dietary part of this, don't I? Maybe it's because I don't want to think too much about the other parts! (LOL) I'm excited and really nervous at this point! I feel like I want to run around the house yelling " Aaaauuuugh!
