After you RNY, what did you gain back up to and what did you get down to after your DS, if you don't mind me asking? I'm sure other patients that are seeking revision or contemplating revision from other surgeries especially want to know. Getting a hernia repair and panni done at the same time is ideal as it should be able to be done through the same incision and after hernia repair, it's best to be tightening up the muscles anyway, so it makes sense to remove the panni and tighten those muscles at the same time. Guest guest Posted January 5, 2008 Report Share Posted January 5, 2008 Hi Anita from my RNY i regained about 50 Lbs coming on really rapid the last 6 months prior my revision. After my DS revision ill be 1year by January post-op. i havnt able to loose a great amounts but not everyone looses this slow after revisions tho.My body just being stubborn about letting go of my fat.I went from weighing 247 and now down to 210/215 so perhaps i may loose a few pounds after my panni and hernia repair.I know sounds awkward to hope i loose more after my abdominalplasty and hernia repair i think ill still be okay if my tummy doesnt rmain as tight.rather to loose than to outstretch this tummytuck cause of weightgain.Dr.K is helping me thru this journey he put me on thyroid medication.Ive also undergone the enyscopy preping me for the big day . DrK says my pouch looks really great still slim looking no signs of out stretch.So anyways he says once his hands are in my guts,lol he will then detect weather he may have to shorten something there where he wasnt able to see from the endyscopy. Kinda like what u call a mini revison if its required.I still love my DS guys atleast here i dont have dumping episodes like with RNY and are able to enjoy eating my foods and fluctuate just with a 5Lbs.I wont have to worry about sutures erupting either.My labs now show great!
