Guest guest
Hi Everyone, Betsy is doing well. She has had some bumps in the road, but they have been small. Assuming there are no problems tonight, she is coming home tomorrow. I'm sure she will be in touch with the group before the week is over. Thanks again for all of your prayers and support. Guest guest
> One thing that I'm unsure about is my vitamin and calcium supplements. I don't see the cardiol doc until 2/19. I'm afraid to take anything with out someone's approval. =============================== Betsy Welcome back! I really don't think taking your Calcium and multi- vitamins are a problem. In fact I worry about your NOT taking them. However, since I'm not a doctor I do think it would be wise to run it by your Cardio doctor....but...DO NOT wait until 2/19! They have phones! Call and ask. Stress that it is a requirement for your DS but you want to make sure it isn't counter productive for your heart and the meds you are currently taking. " IF " your cardio says to NOT take your supplements..take the next step and contact Dr. K and let him know what they are advising. Then let the two doctors hash it out. But be proactive and do not be passive and wait until your next appointment. This is something the doctor can review and get back to you via phone. I know it was awful going through bypass surgery..but what a blessing that something was able to be done BEFORE a heart attack! I'm curious...do you know your HDL levels? Guest guest
Betsy, Funny thing is, your labs remind me of my mother's labs. I could have sworn that they forgot a " 1 " in the hundreds column because her LDL was 12. Yes, 12. Sheesh! She just had that cath, remember, and got a stent. Her heart was pretty good for 82 or even for 62 except for one lesion. So, go figure. I am not sure of the Jazz Festival now. I am juggling our call schedule, and really need to go to England in May, also. I haven't figured things out yet. I am the Chief Physician at work now, so have more responsibility. Ha ha. Good thing: I get my very own cell phone so won't be cut off from outside calls...oh, wait, unless I am in a poor signal area of the prison. Oh, well.
