Guest guest
Dearest Advocates: I wanted to make sure you have the recent schedule for what theaters the protests are scheduled for Tropic Thunder today. See below for additional information prepared by The Arc of Georgia. Also- please take a moment and go to www.r-word.org prepared by Special Olympics. They give everyone and opportunity to sign a quick petition as to why the r-word is wrong! It only takes a minute. They are really trying to get the numbers today with the protests scheduled across the country. It helps form a common voice on the issue from a national standpoint. Also see Mark (Advocacy Director for Sheppard Center) on the issue and comments as well. Also below is information regarding an upcoming Dept. Human Resources – Developmental Disabilities Advocates Meeting Scheduled. Let’s show our support today and remove the R-word from culture and replace with it “Respect”. Let’s use this as an educational opportunity to help others understand why this is so important to the disability community! United- We Will Make A Difference! Sincerely, Heidi ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ From The Arc of Georgia- Tropic Thunder Protest Schedule for TODAY: 6 in Atlanta/Metro, 3 outside Atlanta Dear Colleague, I have included the contact people for these areas.
