Christian books need a warning label like cigarettes? Warning: Reading this book maybe harmful for non-US citizens? :( Goofy!! My problem with the post is that it has NOTHING to do with Autism! :) To: autism-aspergers Sent: Thursday, February 2, 2012 5:38 PM Subject: Re: The Battle for Our Children - NEW article

Some of this content - the religious stuff - comes close to being

unsuitable for a group like this. Not all our members are

Christian. I don't have any problem with the larger message, but

perhaps you could at least warn people that it is in a Christian

context. In the US Christians may be a majority and people may be

used to religion being spoken about openly, but in other places that

is not the case. One thing I learnt from a number of years

preaching is that it is the incidental remarks that people focus on

rather than the main message.

Good response . To: autism-aspergers Sent: Thursday, February 2, 2012 11:39 PM Subject: Re: The Battle for Our Children - NEW article

If you remember back some time here, we had arguments over people

sharing religious ideas. I want to avoid that. I think it was

mostly US citizens involved. People who are not Christian do not

always take well to the idea that Christians want to 'target' their

children. I think the article could have been written without

reference to religion, and the argument applied to autism. That

would have made it more appropriate. I don't believe TV or

computers, or even computer games, are bad in themselves, but how

much they are used, and what is on them, is something we have to

think about as parents. Autism just complicates things a little

more.
