Guest guest
> Recently, I've been wondering if Type 2 Diabetes can be controlled by a great natural diet, how can it be caused by a Pancreatic Fluke or by other worms? Any ideas about the real cause of Diabetes? Obie. > Hi Obie, Type II diabetes is caused by eating a high carbohydrate diet and not by pancreatic flukes (in my opinion). Most " experts " in moderate or low carb diets (such as Barry Sears, author of The Zone), say that it is caused by carbs causing the release of too much insulin into the bloodstream. Eventually, it takes more and more insulin to lower blood sugar levels and to transport glucose into the cells. (Insulin receptors on the cell membrane are down regulated because of the high insulin levels.) They believe most of the American population has a sensitivity to carbs and should be eating a moderate (Sears) or low carb (Atkins) diet. Dr. Mercola also recommends a healthier version of the low carb diet. (www.mercola.com). I believe these experts are on the right track. Autopsies performed on young adult trauma victims (such as car crashes; average age: 26) show that 75% of them had evidence of cardiovascular disease. Over 20% of these trauma victims had evidence of serious cardiovascular disease (greater than 50% occlusion in one or more of their coronary arteries). Please note that this is at an average age of 26. (ph A, et al. Manifestations of coronary atherosclerosis in young trauma vitims-an autopsy study. J Am Coll Cardiol 1993) I am convinced that this demonstration of cardiovascular disease is due mainly to insulin sensitivity. Insulin, in excess, also causes activation of the blood coagulation cascade (Axelrod, L. Insulin, prostaglandins, and the pathogenesis of hypertension. Diabetes. 1991). This in turn deposits fibrinogen and fibrin on the arterial walls. This adds to the problem of transporting glucose into the cells. The solution is to eat a moderate or low carb diet. I'm not convinced of the value of a very low carb (Atkins type) diet, though. Studies have shown that it lowers testosterone levels in male athletes and raises their cortisol levels. (Not a good thing.) So it appears that some carbs are necessary for healthy body functioning, at least in some people. This would correlate with how the body burns fuel. At rest, the body gets its energy from about 1/3 carbs and 2/3 fats. Protein isn't usually burned as fuel if adequate carbs are present. (Protein is burned as fuel in low carb diets, heavy exercise, and some diseases.) Eating a carb intake that is much higher or lower than 1/3 of the fuel needs seems to cause problems in many people. If you have high blood sugar levels, try Dr. Mercola's diet. If not, try Barry's Sears' diet (The Zone) or Dr. Schwarzbein's diet (The Schwarzbein Principle). Bear in mind, though, that 25% of the population may not have a sensitivity to carbs. This small percentage of people will do fine on a high carb diet. My two cents --Rich

Hi , Well, when you exercise, you get about 2/3 of your energy from carbs for the first 30 to 60 minutes of exercise. Then your body will switch to using mostly fats as fuel. So that is why you feel better with more carbs the day after you exercise. (Your body needs more carbs after exercising.) As far as the parasites are concerned, I don't have a clue! Guest guest
Diabetes/cleanses/diet Obie: MY CASE..BASIC I have been a type 2 diabetic since about 1995 and for a short period, something under 1 year during which I was trying to follow the Dr. Carey Reams system, have run 500 to 2000mg/dL every day. Except for one week in the very beginning I have not taken any allopathic type drugs to control this. I have been through 4 alternate health type practitioners, including one famous medical intuitive, each of which has told me that there is actually nothing wrong with my pancreas. I have done a lot of work overseas in Africa, Iran and central America etc. Thus exposing myself to the possibility of picking up a number of parasites. SOLUTION The last alternate health practitioner I went to see was Dr. Jubb in NYC. essentially what he told me was that my GI tract/gall bladder/liver was packed out with bile stones and stuff that I had to get rid of . Jubb's basic procedure for solving my problem was to put myself through a series of five 14 day Nutritional Lifefasts doing three flushes per set. The fasts are not really fasts but consist of eating only the foods outlined in his book The Lifefood Recipe Book....mainly liquefied fruits and vegetables. Of course other avenues are employed at the same time such as enemas and supplements etc. After completing this program I am supposed to do a 100 day parasite cleanse. NOTE Please understand that I have been working at this for about 7 years without too much long lasting success. This means I have spent thousand of dollars on all kinds of alternate medicine supplements. WHAT HAPPENED Within the first 7 days I was down from 1000mg/dL to 100mg/dL. Then I began to cheat and it went up to 250 and then to 500 mg/dL, then I got back on it properly and it went down to 80mg/dL or normal. I am also keeping track of my urine and saliva pHs and urine Brix readings. The bad periods coincide with going off the diet ie. having to travel to another state for a few days or having a birthday or celebration or just getting plain old tired of eating something we would not normally call food. BUT at least now I definitely know how to drop blood sugar level quickly and effectively without drugs. PROBLEMS 1) Since the fourth flush I have developed pains and swelling in the Secum area, they will go away after a clean out...Swiss Kriss + enema and will return depending on what I eat. These pains are now accompanied by pains in the knees, buttocks, legs and lower back....coming and going or just on one side of my body or the other. 2) I am loosing weight, was 140lbs in 1995 and am now 115 and feel like I am going to die however I can keep the blood sugar down, the weight will have to be worked on later. 3) For anyone who is accustomed to eating anything and everything, these whole food diets are difficult to stay on no matter how tasty they are and they seem to consume your whole life in planning, shopping and preparation. IMPORTANT NOTES A few years ago I bought Saul Pressman's book, The Maintenance Manual for the Human Body, I wish I had paid more attention to it at the time for I would be well ahead of the game to-day. In Saul's book the solution to almost every disease covered there, commences with cleansing (including parasites) along with the proper diet and supplements. Think about this very carefully and you will come to a very surprising conclusion. Hope some or any of this helps, Carl " Obieark " wrote: >Recently, I've been wondering if Type 2 Diabetes can be controlled by a great natural diet, how can it be caused by a Pancreatic Fluke or by other worms?
