Here is a fix for that awful taste. After the 3 minute mixing add 2-3 droppers

of liquid stevia and 12-16 ounces of water. Makes a major improvement. Actually

kind of enjoyable. Buy liquid stevia at most Kroger stores or save money nad go

to swansonvitamins.com It is about half the price and is undiluded. I actually

dilute the Swanson stuff 50% it is much easier to use because it is so thick

when undiluted.

I've been using a powdered drink mix by Stevita that contains erythritol, Citric

acid, Fumaric acid, Tartaric acid, natural flavors and natural colors. Does any

of this sound like it would conflict? The flavors are very strong so I've never

tasted anything of the MMS.

I am not sure, please someone correct me if i am wrong. I am under the

impression that erythritol is an ingredient of aspartame and could be harmful.

, I googled it and this is what one link says, it is a 4 carbon sugar

alcohol, not related to aspartame.-

Is Erythritol Better Than Xylitol?

Unlike xylitol, which can aggravate symptoms of Crohn's disease and irritable

bowel syndrome, erythritol is rapidly and easily absorbed in the small

intestines. Because only about 10% of consumed erythritol enters the colon,

erythritol is less likely than other " natural " sweeteners to cause bloating and

gas. Additionally, erythritol seems less likely to act as a food source for your

colon's natural flora; this further reduces the potential for bloating and

flatulence.

Erythritol is also far less likely than other sugar alcohols to increase plasma

glucose and insulin levels, making erythritol potentially safer for diabetics.

This is significant because even xylitol, which is widely used in low-sugar and

diabetic-friendly foods, has at least some potential for increasing blood

glucose levels.

Thanks for this info on Erythritol.

As a diabetic, I am always on the look-out for things such as this. I appreciate the heads up.

Can it be bought easily at say, one's local health Food store? Or is it more of an "online purchase" thingy? If so, any knowledge of a good supplier?

Many thanks!

Rod- I saw several sources of Erythritol on google, one I have bought

supplements from is iherb, but since Now makes it by the pound, I would think

any supplier of Now products would carry it.

I have used herbs a lot for various conditions and have had very good results

from them, I know that some herbs are mentioned in various places on the

internet regarding diabetes. Have you looked into that at all?

Hi ,

Yes, I have looked into herbs a little. I have a friend or two who are pretty knowledgeable about them. I'll have a chat with them and see what they have to recommend. I'llk try the Erythritol and see how it goes.

Thanks for the info!
