The

doctor swabed it about 2 weeks ago to determine what type of bacteria was

yeast

infection in his ear????

Hi Pam,

had the same thing. He actually had yeast and bacteria. We ended up

in the hospital and started a 10 day course of IV gentamycin as well as 21

days of Diflucan. Between the 2 drugs his ear cleared up entirely. The

bacteria was resistant to ALL antbiotics except the Gent that's why we had no

choice but to go that way. The yeast is because your son has probably been

using

ear drops throughout his infection and just like women who get vaginal yeast

or babies who get diaper yeast when on antibiotics, the local drops make the

ear susceptible to yeast as well. At this point only a prolonged course of

oral antifungals will really clear the situation up (at least that is what we

were told, I can't vouch for the accuracy of that statement, doctors vary in

opinion from one day, one doctor, one hospital to the next).

I know how bad ear infections can be an I am sorry so many of the Pumpkins

are suffering from this crappy problem. I'll pray that they all just

magically clear up and the drugs finally do their job! LOL

There's a person on another list that has a lesion on the inner curve of his

ear. He's put iodine on it, to no effect, though where the iodine has

dripped skin has peeled off!

He's gotten some DMSO gel and is going to put a few drops of MMS1 into an

amount of gel and try that.

Any idea how many drops would be good to use? I suggested unactivated,

perhaps only 2 drops into a separate amount of the gel, say a tablespoon

size of gel, to be used throughout the day.

He also plans on suing the AMMS orally.
